Fisherman’s Wharf has been popular since the Gold Rush. With limited time before continuing north it seemed like the perfect place to spend a rushed evening in San Francisco. We took advantage of the BART, street cars and cable cars so the girls didn’t have to be confined to a car seat. Taking public transportation was definitely part of the experience. Gruff cable car gripmen sailing down steep and windy rain slicked streets while expressing frustration towards ignorant drivers and patrons is endless entertainment. We already have plans to ride the cable cars again on the trip back home.

Your post brings back so many memories! It’s been years since I was in SF. And I enjoy using your interactive map – I’d forgotten about Hippie Hill!
Fun post.
Gotta love public transportation and SF! 😊
SF is a lot like Disneyland in the rain… everything glitters. The image through the window with all the Christmas lights is magical. What an incredible experience for all. Your verbal descriptors are RIGHT ON. The last time I was there was the summer of 2019 and I don’t know when/if I’ll ever go back. I’m happy you shared this.
