Travels north, east, south, and west of our Oceanside home base.

Traveling from one beach at 33N 117W to another at 20N 155W I wasn’t sure what quite to expect when we left Oceanside and flew into Kona on the Big Island. The Big Island isn’t just the biggest Hawaiian island, it is also the newest. And due to the volcanic activity as the tectonic plate slowly moves across the Hawaiian hot spot, the Big Island is expected to get even bigger over the next 1.5 million years. We have a house rented in Paradise Park, on the windward side of the island, not too far from Hilo, one of the wettest cities in the United States.

Thanks for the map so I can visualize where you guys are. What a perfect airbnb for the kiddos. What an island adventure you are on… just a 21 day cruise from where I am in Australia! I’m excited to travel with you. Great photos… always.

    1. It is a great Airbnb for the kids. The pool was a must! Especially since there are not a lot of swimming beaches around on this island.
