The Huntington botanical gardens are second to none, 130 acres of 83,000 plants, some of which are rare and endangered. The Huntington plays an active role in the United Nations Convention on biological diversity, propagating and preserving their living plant collection. There are sixteen distinct garden themes at the Huntington. One of my favorites is the Conservatory, a 16,000 square foot greenhouse filled with a menagerie of colorful orchids, wide leafed trees and carnivorous plants. But there is no way to choose a favorite garden, they are all unique, intriguing, and enveloping.

Oh man, I’ve been there so many times and yet you found things I’ve never seen! I love each of the photos. You all look so dang happy. What a fun birthday celebration. I remember when you took me to The Huntington, as a surprise for my 50th. WOW. That hummingbird… exceptional. I am going on Wednesday. I’m looking forward to following in your footsteps. What memories this post evokes.
