Fallbrook Gem and Mineral Society was founded in 1957 in Fallbrook, California. Fallbrook is part of San Diego County, one of the top gem and mineral mining regions in the United States. Tourmaline, kunzite, calcite, morganite, topaz, and garnet are some of the more commonly mined materials. The collection at the free museum is comprised of mostly locally mined gems and minerals. It is absolutely stunning. Their fluorescence room showcases crystals whose electrons absorb light and release the energy over time, it is out of this world. Their gift shop sells a $3 mystery grab bag containing a variety of labeled gems and minerals. The museum and gift shop is engaging for people of all ages.

    Dear Brady,
What a perfect Plan B when the hike was postponed due to weather. I absolutely loved this place. I want to take everyone there. The specimens from San Diego County, alone, blew me away. I’m so glad I bought the mystery bag for my gem loving granddaughters. You really are the hostess with the mostest. Thank you for a perfect Day #2 of my birthday month.
