When the Sapphire Tower is in bloom at the San Diego Botanic Garden, a visit to the gardens is a must. There is nothing like this bromeliad, with its unearthly metallic blue green flowers. We caught the tail end of it, most of the stalks have lost its peddles, but it is still impressive nonetheless. I am curious when the next bloom will be since it can go years without this beautiful display of color. Whenever it is, we will be there. Thankfully no one thinks it’s a bigger deal that the San Diego Botanic Garden. They will have their signs dusted off and posted, like the pollinators it attracts, it is impossible to miss.

That is such a fantastic flower. Give me a heads-up next time. I’ll meet you there. I want to see it, too.
Will do!
