Travels north, east, south, and west of our Oceanside home base.

Ice skating dates back to 3000 BC, and here we are continuing the tradition at Joe Marmo/Wayne Lehto Ice Rink in Tautphaus Park, a brief, chilly, icy walk from my sister’s house. Joe Marmo was a professional hockey player and the creator of the Youth Hockey Association in Idaho Falls. Wayne Lehto was the Idaho Falls Youth Hockey president and hockey coach/referee/director. The ice rink is a 85×190 foot frozen surface, plenty of room for a first time ice skating. We went during the cheap skate hour, $15 for all three of us (skate rental included). If our time in the Mountain States wasn’t quickly coming to an end, we would be back for another cheap skate.

Yeah fun ice-skating and not a bad price at all!
