Dennis Avery, the owner of Galleta Meadows/ Borrego Springs benefactor had a vision; he wanted to adorn his 1,500 acre property with the freestanding art of Perris artist, Ricardo Breceda. Breceda has created over 500 metal sculptures, over 130 of which are located on Galleta Meadows Estate. Almost every sculpture is located right along side Borrego Springs Road (and the 350 foot dragon goes right underneath it). Dirt roads stem out from Borrego Springs Road, allowing you free access to all of the incredible, unique pieces of art you are interested in seeing close up.

I have visited several times and every time I see sculptures I haven’t seen before, or at least haven’t noticed. A1 loved them all, reacting appropriately for each (fear of the ferocious prehistoric animals and adoration of the cute ones).

    1. There are so many! It takes a lot of visits to see them all. And even if you do, there is so much detail, you notice things you didn’t notice before.
