Four Points Bulletin

Travels north, east, south, and west of our Oceanside home base.

We drove on Utah Scenic Byways and through a few portions of the Dixie National Forest to arrive at Bryce Canyon National Park from Duck Creek Village.

Hoodoo hoodoos like Bryce Canyon do? No one. Bryce Canyon National Park is incredible. There is nothing like it. It will always be one of my favorite National Parks. Inspiration Point, just 15 minutes beyond the Visitor Center, is our first stop of the day, and is a great introduction to Bryce Canyon. A1, meet Bryce. Bryce, meet A1.

Bryce Canyon National Park was named after a Mormon settler named Ebenezer Bryce, who built a home close to the Bryce Amphitheater. Bryce Canyon is actually not a canyon, but a series of a dozen amphitheaters, which are filled to the brim with incredible hoodoos. Hoodoos are tall columns of rocks that were once part of a plateau but through weathering and erosion, caused by ice and rain, the rocks were wedged apart. Voila. Bryce Canyon National Park.

    1. Neither of us have ever been over winter. It looks extra breathtaking dusted with snow.

    1. It definitely looks different! When we return home tomorrow we will go through Zion NP. So nice to have snow, and less people around. 🙂
