Four Points Bulletin

Travels north, east, south, and west of our Oceanside home base.

Duck Lake (also called Duck Pond) is located in the Dixie National Forest, just about a mile passed Aspen-Mirror Lake, and two miles from Duck Creek Village. Occupying almost two million acres, the Dixie National Forest is the largest national forest in Utah. There is a trail that hugs Duck Creek, connecting Duck Lake and Aspen-Mirror Lake (although we only did a portion of it today). Duck Creek is not completely frozen over like Aspen-Mirror Lake, so we did not attempt to walk on it (even though we were curious how thick the ice was).

The snow is quickly melting! Luckily they received a little snow before our arrival, but there hasn’t been any since then, and there is nothing in the forecast. This is a very abnormal winter for Duck Creek Village.

Four Points pointer- Forest Service Road 095 will be on your right (when leaving from Duck Creek Village), about a mile after the sign for Aspen-Mirror Lake, and before Forest Service Road 056 for Duck Creek Campground.
