The Fred Wolff Nature Preserve is 20 acres of natural open space, just one mile from the house that we rented in La Quinta in order to celebrate Thanksgiving. Between pool time and waiting for the guys to pick up our dinner at our favorite deli, TKB, Marla, the girls and I wandered around the area for an hour, enjoying the last bit of sunlight and looking for animals. Maybe it is just that time of year, but we haven’t had too much luck seeing animals in the desert lately. But it is always fun looking.

“I have always loved the desert.
One sits down on a desert sand dune,
sees nothing, hears nothing.
Yet through the silence something throbs, and gleams…”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Thank you for transporting us to the desert with your great images!
