The Punalu’u Bake Shop is known for its Hawaiian sweet breads as well as being the Southernmost bakery in the United States. We partook in malasadas, sandwiches, bread pudding and more. They sell Panalu’u Bake Shop bread at Costco here in Kona but the options are so much better straight from the source.

Punaluʻu Black Sand Beach is famous for its black basalt sand and the two types of sea turtles that frequent here, endangered green sea turtles and critically endangered hawksbill sea turtles, both of which as saw today. A highlight was snorkeling, where we saw countless species of fish, every color of the rainbow (of course I left my GoPro at the Airbnb). The species of wrasse were my favorite, the saddle wrasse and the surge wrasse in particular.

Yum… one word to describe so much!
Your turtle photos are wonderful!
