Florida Power and Light Company’s Manatee Lagoon is a manatee discovery center that offers free admission to learn more about manatees. The discovery center is a beautiful waterfront 16,000 square foot building filled with everything and anything you need to know about manatees. These threatened mammals may be big but they are very sensitive, to the cold. 20% of all manatee deaths are a result of cold shock, like the manatees whose bones now rest in the discovery center on display. Manatee Lagoon boasts being one of the best places to see manatees, this is partly because there is an outflow of warm water from a Florida Power and Light Company power plant. Now that is full circle, and full service.

When we make it back to Florida, I’m just going to plagiarize the heck out of your trip’s posts. Another learning lesson from the Fabulous Brady.
