Travels north, east, south, and west of our Oceanside home base.

California’s Redwood Coast offers countless options for being amongst redwoods while listening to the ocean crash against the shore. Sue-Meg State Park is a 640 acre State Park that hugs the coast and is filled with firs, spruces, pines and redwoods. We started on Rim Trail Loop, a trail used by the Yurok tribe well before the state park system was established, with a hand drawn map for reference. From there we walked to Wedding Rock for unobstructed sea views, on the lookout for whales.

Okay, you saved the best photo for last, though the one of A alone on the rock is pretty adorable and mermaidesque! Fun.
