Four Points Bulletin

Travels north, east, south, and west of our Oceanside home base.

The San Diego Society of Natural History is the oldest scientific institution in southern California and the third oldest west of the Mississippi. They have been at their current site since 1933, the funds gifted by the philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps. In this large space the society is able to grow their collection. They currently house over 8.1 million specimens.

As new members of the Natural History Museum we have access to museums across the globe with the ASTC passport program. If a museum is part of the ASTC passport program, as are hundreds, ASTC members can get into the museum for free (as long as it is 90 miles away from our residence and our home museum). We are looking forward to further expanding our science experiences.

A return to the Nat is in our future, too. It’s on the NorCal kids wish list. Fun. Thanks for all the info. I’m ready now!

    1. It is in the museum month pass for the month of Feb!
