Travels north, east, south, and west of our Oceanside home base.

Three quarters of an acre of Living Desert Zoo property in Palm Desert is filled with G-scale model train track; that’s 3,300 feet of track with nineteen lines (sound effects and all) running simultaneously. The twenty five Living Zoo train volunteers took it a step further, constructing the world’s longest wooden G-scale trestle, measuring 202 feet, 8 inches. We took our time admiring all of the trains, train towns and tiny topography, before enjoying the rest of the zoo on this Howl-O-Ween.

I love that each time you go to the Living Desert you find something new to share! I love the train scene… the cowboy wrangling the T-Rex is pretty hysterical. I appreciate that A1 has a cheetah friend with her and that owl is spectacular. Fun memories!
