The Virgin River Trail is a scenic 32 mile hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trail located just a ten miles from Duck Creek Village. On our way to Strawberry Point (a failed attempt because of the amount of snow and slippy-slidey-palm-sweaty-road conditions) we saw a Virgin River Trail sign and so decided to partake (in about 1/60th of it) on our way back. Before too long we became distracted with sticks and snow gathered on various living things to keep trekking on. There was serious work to be done moving the snow around. The trail was fun while it lasted, especially since it was the first time we needed snowshoes on this entire trip.
Four Points pointers- 1) Don’t go to Strawberry Point in winter unless you have a high clearance 4×4 vehicle. 2) To get to the trail (or Strawberry Point) go left onto the 14 from Duck Creek Village, then in three miles later, go right onto Forest Service Road 058/ Strawberry Point Rd.
Wow…sounds like an adventuresome excursion today! Intrigued with the word, “ …became distracted with sticks and snow gathered on various living things,” and the curiosity got the better of me!! Lol!! We had friends who had snowshoes for their little girl which, when worn, left an imprint of a bear’s paw. Would that be a hoot or what? Thank you for bringing us along. You are living la dolce vita.
We have some kid snow shoes for her that we can’t wait to use! But she is just a touch too young right now.
