It is not possible to see everything at the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum in Vista in one visit, especially when all of the buildings are closed. Marla et al met us at the museum today. Due to the rainy weather, the ground was muddy, and the buildings were closed, so the entry fee today was free. (The clock museum will have to wait until next time.)
Even with the buildings closed, there is still plenty to goggle outside. Especially since the blacksmithing barn was full of aspiring blacksmiths. One of the volunteers explained the entire process of making a heart fire poker, today’s project. I cannot wait for Eric to sign up for classes! I would love to too, but we have to go one at a time. That is until A1 is a little older. Then she will sign up for the kid blacksmithing classes. I am so excited. I love this museum.
Four Points pointer- If you go in rainy weather, wear footwear with good traction. We were slipping and sliding, and had an inch thick of mud and hay caked onto our soles.
Oh man, I love this series of photos. You are right, so much to see you must go back. None of your images are the ones from our previous visit and I thought we took a ton. WOW. That blacksmith in action shot is fabulous and the gif of Miss A1 ‘driving’ is full of joy. LOVE IT ALL. And thanks for the footwear tip. Way, way fun. Nice post.
