Travels north, east, south, and west of our Oceanside home base.

Deer Park Winery and Car Museum in Escondido has been in business since 1979. It is just 30 minutes away from our home base in Oceanside, but this is our first visit. In fact, before we bought our Groupon, we had never even heard of it before. I love finding something new in our own backyard(ish).

Although I was not a big fan of their reds (even though they claim they are award-winning, and I almost exclusively drink red), the sangria and rosé were delicious, so when we go back we know what to get. We weren’t there as much for the wine anyway as we were for the museum. We were not disappointed with the three buildings which house hundreds of vintage vehicles and other Americana collections (including an extensive assortment of Barbie). They have been awarded the trophy of excellence by the Antique Automobile Club of America (and this I very much believe). Like a hood ornament on a vintage vehicle, the Deer Park car museum adds a little something extra to Escondido.

Are those old radios? So cool!

    1. They have two displays of old radios. I love the colorful ones.

And I would love to have one of those Flying A signs.

    1. Ha. I love the peddle cars! Our daughter could start her own taxi business!
