Four Points Bulletin

Travels north, east, south, and west of our Oceanside home base.

As we conclude our three week stay in the Far East we couldn’t not visit the Far Yeast. Far Yeast Brewing Company headquarters and main brewery is in Kosuge Village, about two hours from Tokyo, at the beginning of the Tama River (which it uses to brew its beer, boasting the optimum temperature for fermentation). We visited its flagship restaurant, the Far Yeast Tokyo Brewery & Grill, loving all of the food and beer that we tried. Although the name of the brewery doesn’t make sense in Japanese (because they don’t refer to themselves as the Far East, nor does Far East rhyme with Far Yeast in Japanese) we found it super clever and the attraction to the name led us to some incredible craft beer. As I conclude my fourth visit to Japan I have to say, Japan just keeps on getting better.

When I saw the title of this post I thought it had to be a typo. Nope… Just clever. What an awesome conclusion. What fun for all. Even A1 seems so content.

    1. I figured it would get someone’s attention. Such a great name.
