Established in 1918, March Air Force Base is one of the oldest airfields operated by the US military. This was Bob Hope’s first stop on his SFO tour, entertaining March troops in 1941. The March Field Air Museum, located alongside the now March Air Reserve Base, is a nonprofit organization aimed to educate the public about March’s role in aviation. There are tens of thousands of aviation artifacts on display as well as over 100 aircraft (its one of the largest collections of military aircraft on the entire West Coast). While soaking in the the variety of aircraft (many of which look like they couldn’t possibly overcome Earth’s gravitational force) visitors watch as drones and cargo planes repeatedly take off and land on the parallel airstrip.

It has been years since we’ve been to March. My parents are buried across the street at the Riverside National Cemetery. When our older son was in elementary school, he was in an educational movie, shot at March. Fun memories evoked by your post.
I didn’t realize your parents are buried at the historic cemetery across the street!
