Travels north, east, south, and west of our Oceanside home base.

The World of Orchids is currently blossoming at the San Diego Botanic Garden. This is the second annual spring showcase and it is nothing to be missed. Private orchid collectors and various local orchid societies have lent their spectacular flowering plants to the Botanic Garden, exchanging them each Tuesday, in order to display different ones throughout the five week long exhibit.

Currently, on Sundays and Mondays, members get the orchid-filled Education Conservatory to themselves from 9:00-10:00 (meaning more time to examine each flower without feeling herded through the greenhouse). I have never seen so many unique patterns, color combinations and shapes. I have never been so impressed by orchids, each one exhibiting a distinct personality.

Incredible! Orchids are some of the most unique flowers that I’ve seen. And very beautiful!

    1. Couldn’t agree more. But they do have some competition with the Sapphire Tower…

Wow! What spectacular flowers. I would have loved to have been there, too. You look so content. What a perfect way to spend a Spring day. So beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
