Nestled within Collier Park in Point Loma is the Point Loma Native Plant Garden. The garden features rare and endangered plants found along side the San Diego River. Shaw’s agave, for example, is only found within a 200 mile stretch of coast in California and Baja California. The garden is very organized and well kept, and includes name placards next to many of the endemic plants. We also loved all of the pollinators and animals dependent on the plants for their survival. The western tussock moth caterpillar was especially incredible to observe. This guy was pure personality.
