The original Oktoberfest celebration began in 1810, when a prince and princess were wed in Munich, Germany, and citizens were invited to attend some of the festivities to help celebrate the royal event. Oktoberfest grew over the years in Munich, eventually attracting over six million people to partake in the festivities. Lucky for us, we don’t have to go too far to take part since it became a worldwide event in the 1960s. These days all you need is die Freunde in Lederhosen and die Freundinnen in Dirndl drinking Bier in a Stein while eating Brezeln, Wurst, Sauerkraut, and Strudel.

We were at a friend’s house in Vista. They always do a big Oktoberfest. And it is always a ton of fun.
A looked so festive and adorable in her Octoberfest dress! I would so love an airdrop of that great photo! It could make a great painting even…..As a child, my parents sometimes took me to German restaurants called hoffbraus (?)- not sure of spelling…many moons ago, of course! I liked it when the dancers came out! Of course, as you know, my maiden name was Beck.
German restaurants sound fun. I will see if there are any around. 😊
