The 2,000 square foot William D Cannon Art Gallery is located in the Carlsbad City Library Complex. Throughout the two decades it has been opened, the gallery has hosted a variety of art exhibitions. It is currently hosting Frida Kahlo’s Garden, one of only three California venues selected to host the traveling exhibition. Frida Kahlo’s Garden explores the life and art of one of the most iconic and beloved Latin American artists. Part of the exhibit even includes a miniature (hands on) kitchen, similar to the kitchen in her famous “casa azul”, where she was born and raised. It is free of charge, and only in town until October 20. The exhibit is small, but extremely informative, and bright.

I am so glad you got to see the Frida exhibit. I knew you would love it. The Cannon Gallery is one of my favorite things about Carlsbad and I felt they did an amazing job introducing us to Ms Kahlo, her history, her loves and her talents. Estoy feliz de poder compartir algo nuevo contigo ya que me estás dando tanto (translated by google with apologies).

    1. Thanks for telling me about it!

Amazing! There was one in Mexico and London with her clothes I would have loved to see.

    1. Frida was fascinating, and her clothes are no exception, just an extension of her uniqueness.
