Every few months the San Diego Botanic Gardens (in Encinitas) hosts a new exhibit in the Dickinson Family Education Conservatory. It is currently housing bromeliads- tropical, brightly colored flowering plants, native to the Americas.
We spent two and a half hours at the San Diego Botanic Gardens, but remained in one small area. If you are a toddler, the Hamilton’s Children Garden has everything you could possibly need. Giant chairs, a treehouse, chalkboards, a stream, musical instruments, giant balsa wood blocks… its sensory play overload.
What an awesome explore! The bromeliads seem so prehistoric to me. Did you feel a little Jurassic Park-like? I love the photos of A1 running off towards the fun. So dang sweet! Fun play for all (though I do have to ask who had the most fun in Hamilton’s Children’s Garden???)

It is an award winning botanical garden! And we barely scratched the surface with this visit.
