Travels north, east, south, and west of our Oceanside home base.

Just a five minute walk from downtown Leavenworth are the beaches of Waterfront Park. The park is located along side Wenatchee River, a 53 mile river which terminates at the Columbia River. The water is amazingly cool on a hot summer’s day. We had to share the area with other beach goers, but we appreciated a spot on the sand to build sand castles, relax, and swim.

Two days in Leavenworth was a great amount of time to explore, sans driving. There are so many neat shops and restaurants to hop into. Our favorites were Kris Kringle, the Cheesemonger’s Shop, and the Gingerbread Factory.

Oh man, I’m so going to go! I love this series of photos! So glad you tweaked your itinerary to go there. I’m sorry Canada is out for this trip. Next time! Love, love, love that giant pretzel. Fun stuff Brady.

    1. Canada will have to wait. Probably until summer of 2024 since the other summers are taken.
The pretzel was really good. But I couldn’t even eat half!

I love Leavenworth! There is a metal-working shop near the west end of town, on the north side of the road, that sells gorgeous sculptures. I hope it’s still there. We haven’t been to Leavenworth for at least 5 yrs so it may have closed in that time. But if not, check it out!
As always, I love your pictures. Thanks for the sweet memories!

    1. The metal shop is still there! We checked it out.
I am happy we were able to squeeze in a trip to Leavenworth. Our road trip does eventually have to come to an end…
