Founded in 1852, Coupeville is Washington’s second oldest community. It is in the middle of Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve (the one and only National Historical Reserve in the nation). In 1905, the brick red grain wharf exported grain produced on Whidbey Island. Until the Deception Pass Bridge was built in 1937, Coupeville depended on boats to connect the island to ports like Seattle and Everett and beyond. We happened to be there at a super low tide, exposing Coupeville’s huge mussels.

We were there a year ago, July 30th. The history and charm is off the charts! So much to see and do, it’s crazy. I love seeing your perspective of a place we have been to first. Keep enjoying the adventure!!!
