Water Street couldn’t be a more perfect name for the the historic downtown street of Port Townsend. Port Townsend became an official European-American settlement in 1851. It is situated on the northeastern side of a small peninsula within Olympic Peninsula. This Victorian seaport village is crammed full of neat shops, galleries and restaurants. Water Street runs parallel to the ocean, so everywhere you look is an interesting view.
We would have loved to explore Port Townsend more, as there are other historic parts, but we had a ferry to catch. The ferry is located right off Water Street as well. It takes you across the bay to Whidby Island and eventually over to Anacortes, where we will be home-basing for a while in order to explore some islands and hopefully see some whales.
It was super exciting to treat the Subaru to its first boat ride.
We were there just last month! It is a neat little town.

It is amazing the treasures one finds in the form of little towns. Such history and beauty. We have been to Port Townsend a few times and with each visit new discoveries are made. Love the ferry, too.
I really loved it here. Can’t wait to come back and explore more.
