Four Points Bulletin

Travels north, east, south, and west of our Oceanside home base.

The Cerezo Bluffs tide pools are the closest thing we have to an aquarium close by. It is better than an aquarium in the sense that there is a hunt involved; which wonderful creatures will be found hidden in the intertidal zone today? Low tide time aligned with naptime, which left me with two hands and two eyes to sort through seagrass. My friends, Steve and Denise, could be found amongst the seagrass, looking for their own little sea friends. They found a heavily camouflaged wavy turban snail, while I found a green kelp crab (very exciting for me!) and a live lobster. I think it was a very successful day at the Bluffs.

  1. Denise says:

Oh man, Brady. We loved our afternoon with you. Having our own biologist there, leading the way was so exciting. I told Steve you, in the tide pools, are like a kid in a candy shop! What a delight. Let’s watch the tide charts and do it again soon.

    1. Oh man, I love it so much. I felt guilty about not having my baby with me. She loves it too. But there is no way I would have found that kelp crab with one hand…
We shall do it again! Hopefully on another sunny winter day.
