Travels north, east, south, and west of our Oceanside home base.

Havasu Parasail has been in business for 15 years. The captain/owner, Alan, has 50,000 flights logged. This is all important information considering I intend to parasail in Lake Havasu as part of my big 4-0, and I am scared of heights and don’t want to die. The boat docks right at the London Bridge, giving us one last chance to check it out before we leave tomorrow.

Looking more closely at the London Bridge we were able to find some of the numbers used when they dismantled the bridge 80 years ago (so they could keep track of the parts for reassembly). Also, we visited the statue of the founder of Lake Havasu City along with the developer C.V. Woods (who also worked with Walt Disney on the development of Disneyland).

Needless to say our parasailing adventure was a huge success. We highly recommend using Havasu Parasail. I had to work through some emotions 500 feet above the Colorado River, but it was totally worth it. Not only did Eric and I both enjoy ourselves, but A1 did too. She loves being out on the agua just as much as we do (especially while a captain blasts her favorite Disney songs). This was my first ever parasail so I didn’t know what to expect. It was much more mellow than I thought it was going to be (I didn’t realize you are let up slowly, with the parasail already deployed). The views of the mountains that surround the Colorado River, at sunset, are particularly spectacular. What a fun trip this has been.

Did you plan it for sunset because the images could not have been more amazing!? A1 looks so happy to have mommy to snuggle on. What a blast. What a fabulous way to commemorate a birthday. You guys do it in style. AND sweet selfies at 500 feet, too.

I love the numbers on the bridge, too. We have boated under it a couple of times and I never noticed them. Wonderful, wonderful posted. I’m adding it, yet again, to my “must do” list.

    1. We did plan our parasail for sunset. It was ideal.
As far as the numbers, we found them while walking on the steps that lead from the bottom to the top of the London Bridge. I read they were visible so I was determined to find them. It was easier than I thought, but I don’t think I would have noticed if I wasn’t purposefully looking for them.

I can’t believe you’re 40. Glad you did something big for a big birthday.
